George and his team recently catered for a beautiful wedding set in Chenies Manor, a historic landmark with extensive gardens, tucked away in Buckinghamshire. George's Kitchen spent 10 months working with the couple to ensure all of their ideas and requirements were captured and it also included a trial back in July so they could narrow down their choices for the menu.
On the day guests were first treated to a drinks and canape reception in the manor which included some of George's renowned hickory smoked salmon. This was followed by a main course of slow cooked beef cheek, trio of celeriac, calvolo nero and a homemade cranberry sauce. The food journey continued into the evening and George's team served guests a potato bap filled with smoked thick cut bacon and George's homemade mushroom ketchup. Vegetarians enjoyed porter welsh rarebit. Both were perfect late night snacks!
"Superb food and staff. George's Kitchen catered for our wedding and we were very happy we chose George and his team. Lots of compliments from our guests. Thanks George!"
George’s Kitchen has had the honour of catering for a series of events for the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire over the last year. The most notable occasion was held this summer over a long weekend and, with close to a 1000 people to cater for, and a special appearance from Mary Berry, it was certainly a memorable event. George and his team served an array of sandwiches which included chargrilled chicken and asparagus wraps, George’s smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese and black pepper and many more delights. For the evening event, there was also a variety of canapes including caramelised red onion and goats’ cheese filo parcels, mini baked potatoes with a chive béarnaise and soy marinated chicken with an avocado and lime puree. Guests were then treated to an evening meal of Thai red chicken curry with sweet potato, lemon grass and cardamom jasmine rice.
"George has catered for us both privately and professionally and I’ve always been very impressed. He has helped us on a wide range of events - small dinner parties, large dinner parties (up to 50 people) and garden parties, the latter of which involved a hectic schedule of 4 parties in 2 consecutive days catering for about 800 people. At all times George has been professional, thorough and the standard of food is excellent. He is very willing to work towards a specific brief, and always provides great menu suggestions and ideas to make things work. It has been straightforward working out the menu and budget and he has always kept to the agreed fees. He brings with him very professional staff, who always compliment the occasion. I would not hesitate to recommend George and have him booked for another large dinner party later in the year. I’m looking forward to seeing what he’ll produce for us then! "
Anne is one of our many repeat customers and we have catered for her on a couple of occasions at her home in South - West London. The first event was a lavish summer party and George and his team designed a menu of canapés and bowl foods. We served hot smoked salmon crostinis, soy marinated chicken with an avocado and lime puree dip and slow braised neck of lamb with spiced aubergine imam. We also catered for a private lunch, filled with an abundance of George’s Kitchen delights; from homemade breaded scampi, mushy peas and tartare sauce to a sit-down Moroccan themed lunch of sumac and za’atar roasted chicken leg with preserved lemon & squash.
"George has catered for two parties for us over the last year. A summer party for 60 and a birthday lunch for 15 people. On both occasions we had delicious food beautifully presented and served by charming and efficient staff. The kitchen was left immaculate & any leftover food was neatly wrapped in the fridge. Thank you so much George for all your hard work. We look forward to seeing you again soon for our next party."
Tom and Zoe hired us to cater for their wedding at Bartholomew Barn in Sussex. Their wedding was Burgundian-themed and we created a French-styled menu to match. For the starter, we prepared a baked Camembert with garlic ciabatta and homemade spicy plum and apricot and ginger chutney. The main was confit leg of duck with baked swede gratin, spinach and morel jus. Guests were then treated to a dessert of macaron ice cream sandwiches.
"We booked George to cater for our wedding in October. My wife looked beautiful in her wedding dress. Nothing came close to upstaging her... apart from George's fantastic food. We'd decided to go with George after he catered at a friend's party – and from the initial discussions about the menu, to the food tasting, to the organising of the waiting staff – George was informative, charming & patient. On the day, the food was delicious; oozing camembert & garlic croutons, sumptuous duck, and orgasmic ice cream macarons – it was all our guests spoke about (apart from how beautiful my wife looked). I'll definitely use George if I ever get married again!"
We catered for an 18th birthday bash at the Thames Rowing Club in Putney. The theme was The Great Gatsby and the client chose a gold colour scheme for the décor. To suit the style of this event, George's Kitchen used gold and rose lacquer platters to serve the array of dishes. Guests were greeted with cocktails such as passion fruit collins and fresh mint mojitos with lime and white rum. George’s Kitchen also served canapes of mini burgers with a gherkin relish and George’s Kitchen’s renowned mushroom ketchup in a brioche bun as well as spicy tuna tartare with miso crips and soy dressing served on ceramic spoons.
"George and his team catered for my son's 18th Birthday Party at Thames Rowing Club. I spoke to George on the phone and discussed what we were looking for. He then emailed me various interesting options. My son and I met with George to finalise our menu. On the night, the canapés, bowl food and cocktails were all absolutely delicious. His staff were positive, upbeat people, who were so easy to work with. Overall it was a great success and I would not hesitate to recommend George's Kitchen and look forward to using them again in the future."
