George’s Kitchen has had the honour of catering for a series of events for the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire over the last year. The most notable occasion was held this summer over a long weekend and, with close to a 1000 people to cater for, and a special appearance from Mary Berry, it was certainly a memorable event. George and his team served an array of sandwiches which included chargrilled chicken and asparagus wraps, George’s smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese and black pepper and many more delights. For the evening event, there was also a variety of canapes including caramelised red onion and goats’ cheese filo parcels, mini baked potatoes with a chive béarnaise and soy marinated chicken with an avocado and lime puree. Guests were then treated to an evening meal of Thai red chicken curry with sweet potato, lemon grass and cardamom jasmine rice.

"George has catered for us both privately and professionally and I’ve always been very impressed. He has helped us on a wide range of events - small dinner parties, large dinner parties (up to 50 people) and garden parties, the latter of which involved a hectic schedule of 4 parties in 2 consecutive days catering for about 800 people. At all times George has been professional, thorough and the standard of food is excellent. He is very willing to work towards a specific brief, and always provides great menu suggestions and ideas to make things work. It has been straightforward working out the menu and budget and he has always kept to the agreed fees. He brings with him very professional staff, who always compliment the occasion. I would not hesitate to recommend George and have him booked for another large dinner party later in the year. I’m looking forward to seeing what he’ll produce for us then! "
